Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family children that would be raised together eventually, learned very early how to get out of her difficulties with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Before she could read or write she wrote her own songs. She got her first guitar when she was 8 and began singing on a Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. In the same year, she recorded her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Her name was made for herself locally while still in high school, however she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist to join his syndicated show at this point. Parton began her career in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She left Wagoner's show, but in 1974, because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton composed I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner following their split. It reached number one. In 1974, Parton's song"I Will Never Love You peaked at No.
